We asked five AI assistants the same 80 questions about mobile games on three consecutive days and read every answer. Here is which games they name first, in each of twelve categories, and which sites they rely on.

For each category: how many of its answers named each game, and the three sites AI cited most often. Every game and every site is counted once per answer.
Games named in the most answers, counted across every category, every assistant and all three days. The average top-12 game came to mobile about eight years ago; none was released in 2026.

Genshin Impact (300 answers) is the most-named game on every day, and Honkai: Star Rail (213) is third, just behind Stardew Valley (220). In RPG & gacha, Kuro Games' Wuthering Waves tied Genshin on the first day, but by 30 September Genshin led by 44 answers to 37.
Stardew Valley (#2), Balatro (#8) and the Monument Valley series (#11) make the overall top 12 in a market led by free-to-play titles. In the Platforms category, paid indie games fill the entire top five.
In 10 of 12 categories the game named most on 28 September was still first, or tied for first, on 29 and 30 September. The exceptions: in Sports, EA Sports FC Mobile and NBA 2K Mobile traded the lead, and "New & upcoming", the most scattered category, moved from Rainbow Six Mobile to Aniimo, which appears in only 14 of 72 answers.
Asked about games for children, AI recommends Khan Academy Kids first (56 of 88 answers), ahead of Minecraft (51) and PBS KIDS Games (46).
apps.apple.com is a top-3 source in five categories, play.google.com in three. Reddit ranks in the top 3 in six of twelve, more than any other site.
Asked which companies make the best mobile games, AI names Tencent in 58 of 60 answers, ahead of Scopely and Supercell (54 each) and HoYoverse (51).
AI assistants are becoming the new app store front page. When a player asks ChatGPT or Gemini for a game, they get a short list, not a chart of thousands. Those lists change from one day to the next, but they are not random: the models build them from sources they trust, such as Reddit threads, YouTube videos and gaming media like Pocket Gamer and Pocket Tactics. That is good news for developers. If you earn a place in the sources AI cites, you earn a place in its answers. Visibility in AI can be built, one trusted source at a time.

This report was prepared by Scorra, which tracks what AI assistants say when people ask them for recommendations, and Organicly (organicly.agency), an organic growth agency. On 28, 29 and 30 September 2026 we asked the same 80 everyday questions about mobile games, such as "What are the best free mobile games?" or "What are the safest mobile games for children?", to ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, in English, for the US market. That produced 1,168 answers (Google AI Overviews did not appear 32 times out of 240).
We grouped the questions into twelve categories and counted, for each game, how many answers named it at least once, adding up all three days. Name variants of the same game were merged (for example Free Fire and Garena Free Fire, or Monument Valley and its sequels). Where games tie at the last place shown, all of them are listed. In "Studios" we counted companies instead of games. Cited sources are the pages each assistant listed with its answer, counted once per answer.
Game icons are the apps' official App Store icons, shown to identify each title; all trademarks belong to their owners. Studio and launch-year details come from public records and refer to the first global mobile release. This is a three-day snapshot of AI answers, not a sales or download ranking.
